AC Shadows Unveils Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre partnership that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, offering free additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Revealed
According to the authorized announcement, "A mysterious encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where whispers of forbidden rituals and monstrous transformations reverberate through the shadows." The narrative features a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a clandestine group.
The mission concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Iconic Places and Changes
The teaser features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer concludes with a striking moment showing a character, likely the hostage, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who finish the adventure will receive an exclusive katana in addition to multiple artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-themed attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps mount
Third Free Story Content
This patch also adds the game's third complimentary story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Mystery" also features a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime properties. The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
